Risks. Magne Seljeflot is chairman, and William
“Monty” Lynch heads the London-based team.

Buys W. R. Reed & Co. of Portland, Ore., a p-c, life,
health and general insurance agency. Staff and leadership will
combine with Brown & Brown’s existing Portland
Appoints Gene Calahan to oversee MGA programs in Woodland
Hills, Calif., office as v.p. He is also v.p. of the Los
Angeles chapter of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter
Agrees to buy controlling stake in two insurance agencies in
capital cities of Zhejiang and Henan provinces. The agencies
will act as strategic regional platforms and will buy other
agencies down the road.
Boston office makes executive appointments: Kathleen McCann
named managing director. She comes from Aon Benfield Boston.
Robert Race also managing director moving over from Aon
Benfield Boston. Thomas Perkins joins as senior v.p. and comes
from R. K. Carvill. John Reid appointed senior v.p. Moves from
Aon Benfield’s Boston office. Valerie O’Hearn,
formerly of Aon Benfield in Boston, joins as v.p.
Hub wholesale brokerage Totten Insurance Group buys Norac
Intermediaries, a wholesaler brokerage in suburban Montreal
focused mainly on p-c business. Totten is now one of the
largest brokerages in Quebec.
JLT Re North America makes executive appointments: Steve
Pekala joins as senior v.p. and treaty manager in Chicago. He
comes from Aon Benfield. And Jeff Considine hired as senior
v.p. in New York, moving from Guy Carpenter.
Creates single Southeast group combining operations of
suburban Miami and Atlanta offices. Doug Hutcherson leads
Lockton Southeast as president. Stan Shaffer is COO. Executive
v.p.’s are Neil Metzheiser, Philip Holley, Wayne Soud,
and Sean Lyons.
Promotes Kevin Tromer to president, succeeding Douglas
Bullington. He is also COO of Focus Holdings.
Parent MMC names William Krivoshik as senior v.p. and chief
information officer, a newly created role. He was previously
chief technology officer at Thomson Financial. >> Flavio
Piccolomini appointed as CEO of Marsh Italy, based in Milan. He
was previously CEO of Willis Continental Europe. Emanuele
Cordero di Vonzo is new general manager of Marsh Italy. He
headed the firm’s risk management practice in Italy.
